Allegiant

Allegiant is a movement workshop looking at the life of a man who stood up for what he believed and walked a lonely and difficult path when few stood by his side. We explore the story of Elijah from the book of 1 and 2 Kings in the Bible. We discover the source of his strength and resilience when he was called to stand against injustice, unfaithfulness and apathy. We will find space to reflect on our own story as we ask ourselves where our own allegiances lie.

Participants will work according to their own pace and ability. We use the texts in our warm up, taught movement, and guided improvisation. No previous experience is required. Please wear clothing that will enable you to move freely. We will be moving with bare feet so no special footwear is required.
