Rise

Rise is a dance and movement workshop looking at Jesus’ ‘Sermon on the Mount’ from Matthew’s Gospel. His teaching surpasses worldly religion, it pierces the heart, but lifts the lowly in spirit. We will explore the paradox of how the journey up, is down… and discover what Jesus means, to truly know God. 

We progress through a study of key texts, using these as building blocks for our movement. This is followed by a warm up, taught movement, guided improvisation, discussion and prayer. This gives us time to pause, reflect and apply the truths of God's Word in a unique and inspiring process.

Participants will work according to their own pace and ability. No previous experience is required. Please wear clothing that will enable you to move freely. We will be moving with bare feet so no special footwear is required.
